Project One: Photographic Study - Symmetry of Life.

I would like you all to execute a series of digital images based on a prospective of symmetry. Symmetry is nature's order. We find it in cycles of life as time, we also see it in nature as a physical order. Take for example desert agave viewed from above, or the simple snowflake. We have recreated nature's symmetry with our urban, and industrial spaces. However, our design symmetry is not alway clear. You're challenge is to find symmetry out of the chaos of our build environment. Please focus on the style of photography you're currently working in. This will be a series of related 6- 10 images due Sept 15. The first round of images is due next week.

WHAT IS SYMMETRY -The most straightforward method is to distribute elements equally on both sides of an imaginary centerline by repeating or reflecting shapes from one side onto the other. This vertical "mirroring" is called symmetry. An inkblot is a perfect example of a symmetrical composition--that is, a composition that repeats the same elements on both sides of a central vertical axis. (It should be noted that while the elements are not "identical"--they are "left hand and right hand versions" of one another--the result constitutes perfect "symmetry" nonetheless.)

Key technical elements you will need to demonstrate are: use of hue/saturation, HDR, use of natural light, sharpen or lack of, optional black and white. - Due Sept 15
