"The overarching goal of the Bridge at Hoover Dam is to acknowledge the collective talents and labors of those building the bridge and to place the bridge within the historical context of Hoover Dam and the American West." - Jamey Stillings
Join Photographer Jamey Stillings in person as he discusses his motivations, process and the photographs he created. Project One: Photographic study - symmetry of life.
I would like you all to execute a series of digital images base on a prospective of symmetry. Symmetry is nature's order. We find it in cycles of life as time, we also see it in nature as a physical order. Take for example desert agave viewed from above, or the simple sea shell. We have recreated natures symmetry with our urban, and industrial design. However, our design symmetry is not alway clear. You're challenge is to find symmetry out of the chaos of our build environment. Please focus on the style of photography you're currently working in. This will be a series of related 6- 10 images due Sept 15. The first round of images is due next week.
Key technical elements you will need to demonstrate are: use of hue/saturation, HDR, use of natural light, sharpen or lack of, optional black and white.
